International Security Conference
Bringing together leading politicians, ambassadors, diplomats, senior civil servants, military personnel, academics and business leaders, this major event organised by Sciences Po Aix in 2022 aims to examine the geopolitical changes currently taking place in a geostrategic area, and all the more so to encourage forward-looking thinking on the responses provided by governments.
1st edition of the Grand Colloque Sécurité
In December 2022, Sciences Po Aix organised the 1st edition of its Grand Colloque Sécurité Internationale on the theme: Covid, war in Ukraine, energy tensions and the spectre of a food crisis: what security for Europe’s southern borders?
Tensions on Europe’s southern borders have increased in recent years. The health crisis and the war in Ukraine have raised new issues in relations between the shores of the Mediterranean, both in terms of interdependence and competition, which require international relations to be re-examined in the light of these recent developments.
Throughout the day, a number of speakers and prestigious guests discussed various themes in a programme of round tables. The Grand Colloque Sécurité Internationale de Sciences Po Aix was particularly honoured to welcome David Cattler, Deputy Secretary General of NATO, and Uku Sârekanno, Deputy Executive Director of the FRONTEX Agency.
The 1st edition was packed with meetings and debates on security and human issues in the Mediterranean area.
The event is organised under the patronage of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, with the support ofNATO, the Metropole of Aix-Marseille-Provence, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region and the City of Aix-en-Provence.
