Students who have validated a bac +3 (or in the process of obtaining a bac +3) can register for the admission procedure to join the 4th year of the Sciences Po Aix diploma course conferring the master’s degree and the national master’s degree offered by Sciences Po Aix by agreement with Aix Marseille University.
Who can apply?
The 4th year entrance exam is open to candidates who hold or are in the process of acquiring a bachelor’s degree, a diploma or degree corresponding to at least 180 ECTS, obtained in a higher education institution in the European Union or a diploma or degree obtained outside the European Union that is equivalent to at least three years of higher education.
Students enrolled in another Institute of Political Studies may not take part in the Sciences Po Aix 4th year entrance exam
A total of 30 places are offered.
The tests
Recruitment is based on an admissibility test based on a portfolio and an admission test based on an interview.
Each application file is examined by an examination committee which evaluates the files taking into account in particular academic excellence, humanist culture, international openness, professional experience and societal commitments. candidates. The candidates, selected during the first phase, have their file examined by an admissibility committee composed of two members, including the person in charge of the standard course of the master’s degree targeted by the candidate. She draws up the list of candidates she intends to audition. The jury of the 4th year competition decides on the admissibility of the candidates with regard to the proposals of the preliminary examination and admissibility commissions.
Eligible candidates are invited to as many admissions committees as there are standard courses for which they have been selected (two at most). During the interview, eligible candidates are assessed on their motivation, their professional project, their critical thinking and their ability to develop personal and reasoned thinking. The interview lasts 20 minutes including a maximum of 5 minutes of presentation by the candidate.
Application procedures
The application file must be submitted in electronic form on the Sciences Po Aix platform. No application may be submitted by any other means. The stages of submission are as follows:
- Data entry and validation ;
- Uploading of mandatory supporting documents;
- Online payment of the application fee or, failing that, sending a bank cheque.
The application file includes the online registration form (personal information, choice of career path, description of previous studies, professional experience, social commitments, experience abroad) and the documents to be attached (copy of an identity document, letter of motivation, curriculum vitae, transcripts corresponding to the studies undertaken, proof of English language level by means of an English test, proof by any means of the level of another foreign language (German, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Russian), for applicants who have graduated from a foreign higher education institution, proof of a level of French language.
Once the whole procedure is completed, the admissions department of the 4th year competition informs the candidate by e-mail that his/her application has been validated and that he/she is finally registered for the competition.
