The CVEC: what is it for?

Published on

Each year, the Student and Campus Life Contribution (CVEC) is part of the registration process at Sciences Po Aix.Created by the ORE law of 8 March 2018 for the Orientation and Success of Students, the CVEC is mandatory as part of an initial training enrolment in a higher education institution. It is collected by the CROUS. The funds are then used by higher education institutions and the CROUS to create, consolidate and strengthen actions in the fields of health, social support, support for student initiatives, sports, art and culture, as well as the reception of students.

At Sciences Po Aix, the CVEC is employed for various projects that are an integral part of the School’s life.

In the field of health, this contribution made it possible to set up sophrology workshops and recruit a psychologist.

Other important schemes financed by the CVEC are the Solidarity and Development Fund for Student Initiatives, intended to finance projects carried out by student associations (FSDIE Projets) and social assistance for students in difficulty (FSDIE Social), whose campaigns are open until 30 October.

Culture is not to be outdone, since every year an artist is associated with the Cultural Season of Sciences Po Aix.Whether it is a writer, a photographer, a director or a visual artist, the latter leads workshops throughout the year open to students and staff of the School. A project made possible by the CVEC.

Finally, this student contribution finances the School’s Equality Mission, which offers training modules for the fight against Sexist and Sexual Violence (SGBV) and awareness-raising actions such as the conferences on consent held at the start of the 2022 academic year, for first- and second-year students.
