Benoît Pouget

Lecturer

Benoît Pouget is a historian, associate professor and lecturer in contemporary history at Aix-Marseille University and Sciences Po Aix. He is also an associate member of the Oxford Faculty of History and a researcher at the Service Historique de la Défense (SHD ).

His research focuses on situations of extreme violence and crisis mortality (wars, epidemics, natural and environmental disasters) as well as on thehistory of medical sciences, in particular military medicine andemergency intervention. After initially focusing on theEuro-Mediterranean area, his work now also addresses the Middle Eastern, African and East Asian contexts.
