International conference on “Regionalisation of value chains: what dynamics in the Mediterranean?

In the face of a succession of unprecedented crises and large-scale shocks affecting production methods and business organisation, we are witnessing a reconfiguration of world trade that some describe as deglobalisation. Instead, we are witnessing a new globalisation, in a geopolitical context full of threats, which is likely to lead to a fragmentation and regionalisation of international trade.

Will the fragmentation of the global economy and geopolitical tensions create a new dividing line between the north and south of the Mediterranean? Or is this once again an opportunity to strengthen and extend the complementarities and common interests of the two shores?

Sciences Po Aix is organising an international conference bringing together political, diplomatic, economic and academic figures from both sides of the Mediterranean, to examine the economic and geopolitical reconfigurations currently at work on a global scale, favouring a regionalisation of international trade, particularly on a Mediterranean scale.

Friday 2 June 2023 from 9.30am to 6pm at Sciences Po Aix, 25 rue Gaston de Saporta 13100 Aix-en-Provence
