Entrance Conditions

The Institut d'Etudes Politiques (Political Studies Institute) also known as Sciences Po Aix offers three study programmes to international students:

CEP : Certificat d’Etudes Politiques (Political Studies Certificate)
PEPA : Programme d’Etudes Politiques Annuel (Political Studies Program [1year])
PEPS : Programme d’Etudes Politiques Semestriel (Political Studies Program [1semester])

The entrance conditions apply to all three programmes:

Equivalent degree to the French Baccalaureate and at least two years of higher education.
A satisfactory level in French language.
The students whose mother tongue is not French must prove they have a satisfactory level. The proof will be accepted in several forms : a diploma delivered by the Alliance Française or other certified organisation, a certificate written by the university French teacher, etc.
For students enrolled in exchange programs (e.g. ERASMUS, BILATERAL AGREEMENTS), the level of French is to be assessed by the student’s university and therefore the student will not be asked to show any proof of their level of French prior to their arrival.
The students whose level of French requires it will be placed in a compulsory ‘French as a foreign language’ class.
Be accepted by the admission committee, after examination of the student’s university transcript.

The international students are welcomed for an orientation week during which a study contract will be defined and sent for approval to the sending university.
The choice of seminars (conférences de méthode) will depend on the places available and compatibility of timetables.
Concerning modules (lecture courses), choices are confirmed and become definitive after registration for exams which takes place during week 4 of the semester.
